General Information
- Data sets used were selected after considering multiple sources for each item. Whenever "best available" from current online sets such as Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data, U.S. Geological Survey 'The National Map', GeoPlatform, Data.gov and others were considered significantly flawed, as noted in the table below, data sets were manually created.
- Wherever possible symbols as promoted by the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG) have been used. When an appropriate symbol was not available from NAPSG or it was believed did not provide substantial enough clarity from other similar symbols, a best possible solution was selected after considering Department of Defense Interface Standard - Joint Military Symbology - MIL-STD-2525C and various commercial sources. When necessary, coloration was added to facilitate item and layer differentiation.

Continuously updated. Since the confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths are a point dataset, when the polygon county layer is clicked, the totals displayed in the pop-up are queried based on if they are inside the county boundaries.
- Cumulative CONUS COVID-19 cases by county (per 100,000) - COVID-19 data from The New York Times as processed by SharedGeo.
Automatically updated once a day at approximately noon Central Time, for the preceding day at midnight - which is the only valid time for an update from all states.
- Number of COVID-19 vaccine providers registered by county - shows a count of vaccination providers per county as published by the State of Minnesota.

Layers - General
- Airports with hard surface runways 5,000' or more - All commercial, non-commercial, military or joint use airports in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, and select airports in eastern North Dakota and South Dakota which have hard surface runways of 5,000 feet or more as published by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
A spreadsheet was created from authoritative and commercial data sets. Grand Forks AFB and Volk Field ANG Base data from AirNav. All other data created using search of FAA data base limited by region and type of operation. The resulting spreadsheet was then converted into geojson.

Data was scraped from website to create a geojson file with a city, a url that had accompanying food pantry information and latitude/longitude. The pop-up is an iframe from the original data source that displays more detailed information about each individual the city's food pantries.
